The Living City

by RonZak

/
1.
It's the title screen.
2.
Code Alcronic talk to each other about how to go about making their new game: The Living City. Wilbur acts as the story director, with Fredrik being in charge of the soundtrack. Rosetta takes charge of the coding aspect, and Zoella agrees to work on dialogue. Daniel decides to work on characters and species that would be in this world, as Isabelle works on locations. As time goes on, they work endless on this project, having rented a house so they can work closely. The six of them constantly talking to each other, with Wilbur and Zoella constantly budding heads over where the story should go, as the others try working together, dodging Fredrik's numerous pranks he pulls, thinking it'll lighten the mood. However, as the months goes on, thing just get strained amongst the six. Suddenly, one day as they were discussing world building concepts, the six of them find themselves transported to a different world.
3.
"Where... Where are we?" Daniel says, as he starts to rub his eyes. He sits up to find that the others are with him inside some lobby. "What the hell just happened?" Rosetta groans. "Did... Did we just... appear somewhere else?" Zoella asks. One by one, the six developers regain their senses. Fredrik looks around and sees a window. He walks over to it and announces to the others what he sees. "Uh, guys, I think we're in a skyscaper." "No! No, we can't be in a skyscraper! Get me the hell down from here!" Wilbur starts freaking out. Isabelle runs to him and starts trying to calm him down. "Will, calm down! Everything is going to be okay," Isabelle reassures Wilbur. "I don't do good with heights! You know this!" "So wait, we're in a city?" Daniel mutters. Right as he says that, he sees a tall figure in the lobby with them. They tower over each and every one of them, and have eight arms, carrying what looks like a sword in one hand. Their head looks skeletal, and they are staring at Dan with their green, serpentine eyes. They have a pair of sharp looking mandibles, and have what looks like spikes on their arms. They also have two long legs. Their body colors are tan, straw and mahogany. Dan finds himself locked into a glare with them. The being finally speaks. "You seemed to be lost." "What the hell are you?!" Wilbur reacts, which earns him a punch in the arm by Isabelle. "Ow!" "Where are we?" Isabelle asks the figure. "Welcome to Mlademeko. The name's Garlend."
4.
"But what are you?" Zoella asks. "I'm a Fothsti," Garlend replies. "Now, it's kind of interesting to see six people waking up in a confused panic, if you ask me. You're not from here, are you?" "No, we're not. Definitely not," Fredrik replies. "For starters, we don't even come from a city." "Strange, because this entire world is a city," Garlend reveals. "What?" Zoella stares off in the distance. Something is starting to click in her mind. She looks over to Daniel, who also looks like he's realizing something.
5.
Garlend brought the sixth developers to a tavern to tell them about the city and what's been going on. There has been numerous attacks lately to innocent people by a parasitic species known as the Lyally. They can grow up to around eight feet tall, though average six. They have short horns and two narrow blue eyes. They have four arms that end in paws, and two legs that end in two claws. They have a bony tail, and their bodies are covered in silky hair. They easily adapt to any environment, which is not good if they're acting parasitic. They take over their host's minds, slowly altering them, and making them do whatever they want. When full control comes around, it's often too late to save the host. When the Lyally are done with their host, they destroy the body and use it to help with offspring, and something else. Oddly, mate competition is really tame compared to species. A contrast to their horrifying nature. It almost points to the idea that they are supposed to be a tamer species than what they are. It seems that they have a monarchical culture almost. They are shown to be worshiping someone known as the Lyally Queen. Garlend believes this is why Lyallies are acting parasitic because of whatever this "queen" is making them do. Also, there is no such thing as a monarch in Mlademeko, as Garlend puts it. The developers look at each other in confusion. Daniel and Zoella end up realizing something. "This was our game. But this is real life now. We're really here. It was real all along."
6.
Garlend trains the Developers on how to fight with the weapons he gave them. Rosetta got a sword, Daniel got a lasso, Zoella gets a bow, Wilbur gets a nightstick, Isabelle gets a magic staff, and Fredrik gets an air blaster (something that launches strong gusts of wind towards a target).
7.
This is the first boss in the "game." A Culph is a humanoid with a triangular head. They have seven sunken, almond colored eyes. They have eight short, muscular arm, making them a force to be reckoned with, and two long muscular legs that end in hooves. It's height, however is it's downfall, being only at five feet tall. They can barely talk, and their eyesight is subpar, so they use echolocation to get around.
8.
This is the second major location in the "game." It has a steampunk style, and is the only location with no boss fight. However, the gang do encounter some Lyallies, which causes a panic with the developers, who are still learning how to take care of such a threat.
9.
Wilbur, on a case of trying to evade a lyally, ends up knocking over some boxes in a storage room with a conveyor belt. This act ticks off a Thecrewa who was working on inventory. A Thecrewa is humanoid creature with two fly-like eyes, a swan-like neck, and four long T-Rex like arms, (like if T-Rexes actually had useful arms). It has two bulky legs that end in three-clawed toes, and a monkey-like tail. They are known to be easily irritated, and because of Wilbur's accident, they irrationally lashed out at him, pointing him in a box and sent him down a conveyor belt.
10.
Wilbur breaks out of the box to find himself on a conveyor belt. Like something straight out of a Toy Story movie, he has to traverse conveyor belt tracks until he can find safe ground.
11.
Wilbur manages to get of the conveyor belts, finding himself in the next location. Once the others can reach him, he yells at them. "Well, thanks for helping, guys!"
12.
The third major location in the "game." A district known for it's vibrant, colorful atmosphere. Here they meet someone who joins their team named Haverak, who is a Creclerl. They look insectoid. They have six arms, two cream-colored eyes, eight wings, two powerful legs, and a tail. They body color is red and white. They are easily irritated and are determined to take down the Lyallies.
13.
This is the third boss in the "game."A Honey Puphroak, or Puphroak, is a humanoid invertebrate that is about two stories tall. It has medium sized horns and antennas that grow out of its head. They have a long snout filled with blunt teeth. They have six long arms, two thick legs, and a skinny tail. It's body is mostly tan, with blue highlights, while its face is light gray. They are incredibly advanced climbers and can down so much water at once.
14.
The fourth major location in the "game", and Daniel's worst nightmare. An interior lake that goes down for miles and inhabits citizens, too. The crew have to cross this lake to reach somewhere called Veotrik district, where the Lyally Queen is said to reside. They meet another person who joins their team named Laveras, who is a Bryel. They are about 6'6. They look invertebrate in nature, on top of being humanoid. They have medium length antennas, and a long snout. They have two long arms and two sleek wings, as well as a powerful tail. She was found fishing in the lake, and she joined the team shortly after.
15.
This is the third boss in the "game." They are an absolute nightmare, to say the least. They are an aquatic humanoid creature that is 141 ft. long on average. They have five light brown eyes, two arms that end in spikes, and two legs. They're body colors are blue-green, beige, light purple and sky blue. They can survive in temperatures less than -60 C... And they are ancient....
16.
The fifth major location in the "game." It is exactly what it sounds like; a massive interior forest.
17.
The fourth boss in the "game." A Navid is a humanoid aquatic creature that can also live out of water. They have four beady slate eyes, and four long powerful arms. Their shoulders are spike-tipped. They have two very legs, as well as a bony tail. They height averages at seven feet tall when fully grown. Their colors are white and tan. They are known to be stealthy and energetic. However, there are not many left. And this is where something trauma-inducing comes for the developers. Like the other hosts, this Nivid, known as Garaks, has been taken over by a Lyally, but they are trying to fight back control. Asthe crew fights him and the Lyally controlling him, he begs for the crew to save and spare him, for he has a son, and he doesn't want him to have to fend for himself, or even worse, become a victim to the Lyallies as well.
18.
Mercy 02:48
After a traumatizing fight to free the Nivid father from the parasitic Lyally, the developers finally realize how dire the situation is to stop the Lyally Queen. Garaks, the Nivid, thanks the crew for sparing his life, and goes over to his panicked son, Narekos, to comfort him. The developers leave the two alone, traumatized from the whole ordeal.
19.
The sixth major location in the "game." This area is a massive garden, and is the only location where two boss fights happen. Here they meet one more person who joins their team named Kawan, who is a Loichok. He has two brown eyes, elephantine ears, a mouth full of tendrils, two long arms, a muscular torso, two legs, and also a muscular tail. His body is mostly mahogany with brown spots, with purple sections and white highlights, while its head is tan and mottled brown.
20.
This is the fifth boss in the "game." A Chrito is a 24 foot tall avian humanoid. They have two vivid green eyes, as well as two long, heavy arms ending in massive claws. They have six wings, two legs, and a thick tail of feathers. It's body is covered in colorful feathers. They do not do good in water.
21.
Fredrik finds out the crew is being stalked by a Lyally, only to find out later that the Lyally managed to build robots to hunt the crew down.
22.
This acts like a chase song, if you will, with the crew being chased down by robots, until Daniel and Zoella manage to find a way to destroy the robots.
23.
The sixth boss fight in the "game." The crew have to fight a Lyally who is using a mech to attack them. They manage to destroy the mech, and Haverak takes out the Lyally.
24.
This is the seventh and final major location in the "game." Somewhere here, the Lyally Queen resides, waiting for the crew to find her.
25.
Zipline Hell 02:50
Fredrik figures out where the Lyally Queen is. Out a window of one the hallways is a zipline that leeds to a lower floor in a different window. Wilbur immediately rejects going on a zipline, but Fredrik has to talk him into doing it. "I know you're terrified of heights, and that this is a nerve-racking thing to do, but we don't time to run around this big city letting potentially more innocent people get affected by the Lyally Queen and her corrupt crew of cronies. We need to put an end to it right now, and if that means going down a zipline, then to hell with it, we're doing it!" And with that, much to the nightmare of Wilbur, the crew ride down the ziplines, crashing into the Lyally Queen's lair.
26.
This songs acts as a nightmarish remix of all of the bosses that were Lyally hosts, so this doesn't include the Lyally Roboticist's theme. Story-wise, this is the developers, specifically Isabelle, bring up the disgusting deeds that the Lyally Queen made her Lyallies do on innocent people.
27.
The seventh and final boss theme. The crew must defeat the Lyally Queen to save Mlademeko from her evil plans. This song also uses leitmotifs from every other boss fight. (Maybe even the Roboticist one, but I don't remember.)
28.
After defeating the Lyally Queen, the crew demand her to tell all of her followers to stop attacking and attaching themselves to innocent people. She does so, and to avoid her from trying anything, Haverak then executes the Lyally Queen on the spot, shocking the developers. "Well, she had to die either way. She committed crimes against many species. She deserved to die," Haverak explained.
29.
After the defeat of the Lyally Queen, the crew managed to save Mlademeko. The developers then manage to return back to their dimension, crashing into the living room of their studio house. Well, except for two of them: Wilbur and Isabelle. Though the two don't stay with each other, Mlademeko ended up really growing on them, so they decided to spend their days in Mlademeko instead. They hugged Daniel, Zoella, Rosetta, and Fredrik goodbye, before they headed back home.
30.
And you're here in your new home Everywhere you look, movement is all around And you realize after it all This is where you're supposed to be After it all you finally know Where you belong Throughout your journey to save this world You've finally found a home Welcome to Mlademeko We welcome you with open arms Welcome to Mlademeko We welcome you with open arms Welcome to Mlademeko We welcome you with open arms Welcome to Mlademeko We welcome you with open arms

about

The Living City is a fictional game soundtrack about a dev team known as Code Alcronic trying to develop a game called The Living City. However, the devs, Wilbur, Fredrik, Rosetta, Zoella, Daniel and Isabelle finds themselves one transported to a different world called Mlademeko, also known as the Living City. A would made up of a city ecosystem, with several different ecosystems existing within the buildings.

I had worked on this album for three years. I had some help with the story from my friend Wilbur Bullara. We actually based two of the characters here off of us; obviously Wilbur, and also Fredrik. Without Will's help this would have probably taken even longer. He really helped me with the story and motivation

This album was inspired by Equip. The Living City was originally supposed to be a nineties RPG styled soundtrack, but it quickly evolved into this Breakcore behemoth. I think it was for the better. This album is like no other RonZak album. It feels like a mix of the RonZak and Akzron styles. I'd love to go back to the Akzron moniker some day.

I'm really proud of what I was able to conjure up with this album. Three years of my life are gone because of this album, but I feel like it was worth it. I really hope you enjoy this album.

Some of the sounds used on this album are from Halley Labs, W.A. Productions, Applied Acoustics, and mine and Wilbur's project. I'd love to make a sound pack of samples I have made of my own recording that I had used to make this album, as well as on Trapped in a Tumultuous World by Akzron.
